Poly means many and nomials means terms so polynomial is working with many terms.

Monomial-one term
Binomial -two term
Trinomial-three term
According to degree they are also three types
Linear polynomial-Degree One
Quadratic polynomial-Degree Two
Cubic polynomial-Degree Three
